As I was going through the release process with @mschlaipfer , we realized a few steps can be saved.

Instead of create forked release/version branch, we should directly create it in the main repo
Remove the instruction on gh-cmd based release procedure, but let contributors to use the UI which is much more convenient and straightforward for double checking details.
