Is there an existing issue for this?

I have searched existing issues and this bug hasn't been reported yet

Current behavior

I'm on windows 11, using the latest Hoppscotch windows local client version 2025.5.2, my browswer is brave browser

Steps to reproduce

Use brave browser, login to your account via gmail, click proceed, you get the error.

Your account will work in the browser, you just can't link it to the desktop client.

works in edge incognito but has these errors

I think brave built in adblock is causing the issue, I don't have any other browser to test on

but even on edge i still see errors. I always use sign in with google on brave, my primary browser. I onlyl face this issue on hoppscotch. So maybe there's a javascript implementation issue.

Please note most people nowadays use adblockers since the web is unusable without an adblocker, too many ads and trackers. Moreover, this bug needs to be fixed since brave will surpase firefox in number of users, if it hasn't already, since Mozilla has a llot of issues.

These console errors are expected when certain services don’t function as intended. Brave browser users may encounter issues when interacting with Firebase services, particularly authentication. That's not true

Firebase authentication works, I get redirected to my account fine, Hopstach doesn't open
Brave works on all the websites, even postman, only hoppscotch doesn't work, therefore the issue is from hoppscotch
If you don't want to fix the issue, then don't fix it, don't blame brave if hoppscotch is the only website that doesn't work
Firebase is used on all websites, all websites work on brave, hopstach doesn't
The redirection code from the the website to hopstach, I bet it doesn't use firebase to begin with
I'm asked to recommend hoppscotch to my company so we switch the team from postman, I'm not sure how to do that in good conscience, if we face bugs like these with no plans to be fixed
You don't even use brave to know if it works or it doesn't.
