I have the exact same issue, except Windows 11 here. It was working fine till about a week ago.
@jakebellotti commented on GitHub (Jan 11, 2026):
Same here. Windows 11, and this is different roms, on the last 2 versions of Gopher64.
Nvidia 5090 & 9950x3D

Issue randomly started today. No windows system updates, no driver updates.
Opening the .exe completely freezes my machine.

Anyone find a fix for this yet? I'm having the exact same issue.
@justbendy commented on GitHub (Jan 19, 2026):
the only way to run games as of currently is to launch your game through the console
gopher64 /path/to/rom.z64
@loganmc10 commented on GitHub (Jan 19, 2026):
Sorry, I am not sure what the problem is. I am not experiencing this on my computer. I am hoping that a new version of Slint (the UI toolkit used) will solve this problem, I am waiting for it to be released.
@jakebellotti commented on GitHub (Jan 19, 2026):
@loganmc10 Is there anything that I can do to help you get more information?
I may also try building the project myself later, see if I can figure it out :)
@loganmc10 commented on GitHub (Jan 19, 2026):
You could try the latest development build here, and let me know if it works: https://github.com/gopher64/gopher64/actions/runs/21137585956 (you can download the Windows build under "artifacts" at the bottom)
If not, perhaps getting a crash dump would help, there was some discussion on how to produce one on Windows here: https://github.com/gopher64/gopher64/issues/616#issuecomment-3559119545
@jakebellotti commented on GitHub (Jan 19, 2026):
gopher64-windows-x86_64.exe.39616.zip
The latest build also crashes.
I have attached the dump here, in case you'd like to have a look before I get the time.
@loganmc10 commented on GitHub (Jan 19, 2026):
@jakebellotti I believe your issue is that you have Bandicam installed. I don't know why, but it is incompatible with gopher64 (https://github.com/gopher64/gopher64/wiki/System-Requirements). Just having it installed causes the issue (even if it isn't open).
@aflores278832-afk commented on GitHub (Jan 19, 2026):
I looked up some videos and found how to delete the deep files on my computer. After that I reinstalled and it all works great again.
@loganmc10 commented on GitHub (Jan 21, 2026):
@TSnatch72 can you confirm if you have Bandicam or Mirillis Action installed?
@TSnatch72 commented on GitHub (Jan 24, 2026):
Yes, i do as a matter of fact. I removed it with Geek Uninstaller and now games launch as normal.
I'd recommend adding the system requirements disclosure on the main page readme.
