There's some sleuthing here ...

we'll probably want to start by doing a weekly matrix on our rust code tests to make sure we have platform compatibility.
we'll probably want to do a spike and figure out which (if any git version in the last 5-10 years) beaks with git ai
I don't think shell versions will matter, but we should do a better job of testing our git invocations in different parent shell contexts
