Cline is one of the best open-source IDE plugins serving as an complete AI toolkit right in an IDE (coding agent, calling other tools, context, etc)

Related discussion at the feature requests category for Cline https://github.com/cline/cline/discussions/9351 (probably blocks any work on git-ai side according to the 'add your agent' guide)

Looking forward to that supporting git-ai

Hey @Mingela I think we should be able to support for Cline on our end as they seem to support global hooks.

Were you referring to support in the v2 CLI (https://cline.ghost.io/introducing-cline-cli-2-0/) or in their IDE (https://docs.cline.bot/customization/hooks)?

Hey @svarlamov! Thanks for the quick response.

I personally recognize Cline as a great open-source IDE plugin so my request focuses on that specific direction.

As for CLI tools there is plenty of a variety including Claude Code, OpenCode so I'm not sure how Cline CLI would compare exactly.

The initiative might be broken down in two (plugin and CLI) with different priorities assigned based on external feedback (if any).
