I would like to be able to put the configuration in ~/.config/git-ai which is apparently not supported right now.

For full XDG compliance various other things should be across ~/.local/bin, ~/.local/share and ~/.local/state (or whatever the user has configured in the appropriate environment variables)

Thank you for reporting this. I think we have some pretty baked in assumptions related to the structure of the git-ai folder and are currently not planning on full XDG compliance.

I think it's something we might come back to, but it would probably require a v2/breaking changes.
