Describe the bug
Unloaded tabs (e.g. automatically unloaded to save memory or after browser launch) in Kiwi are not synced using tab sync.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Expected behavior
All tabs should be synced whether unloaded or not.
Desktop
Server
Debug log
There is no button, and no sync error occured.
@marcelklehr commented on GitHub (Mar 15, 2022):
Could not reproduce this with the latest version. (I opened a new tab in the background to test, maybe not enough?)
@marcelklehr commented on GitHub (Mar 16, 2022):
I could reproduce with newly opening Kiwi, there's not much I can do about this behavior, though.
@marcelklehr commented on GitHub (Mar 16, 2022):
Is this a duplicate of #1030 though?
@sevmonster commented on GitHub (Mar 17, 2022):
I don't believe so, in this particular instance it's just the tabs not being included in the sync at all, while #1030 has the tab's bookmark removed in the plan while the tab is active so it ends up being closed. I also don't know if this behavior occurs on desktop browsers with unloaded tabs where #1030 happens on desktop and Kiwi.
Maybe the tab duplication I experienced earlier is related to this, i.e. the tabs are unloaded and don't exist in the plan thus are reopened.
Correct, opening tabs in background usually results in the tab being loaded unless the device is constrained on free memory.
@sevmonster commented on GitHub (Oct 11, 2022):
On a fresh install, I had 2 windows open and tabs kept moving between
windows, duplicating, disappearing... I have to leave so I can't yet do
any more thorough testing right now.

Kiwi (Issue #1032)
@qubist-pixel-ux commented on GitHub (Sep 6, 2024):
Any update on this issue ? It makes floccus unusable. Tabs will be removed from sync file once unloaded by browser.
Do other browsers have this issue ?
@marcelklehr commented on GitHub (Sep 6, 2024):
Hi @qubist-pixel-ux
The status of this issue is that I cannot do anything to fix this. Unloaded tabs in Kiwi are not visible to floccus anymore, so there's nothing I can do in floccus to work around this.
@qubist-pixel-ux commented on GitHub (Sep 6, 2024):
Are there any android browsers in which flocus works well ?

Not that I know of, besides, Kiwi. That's why the android app exists.
