@marcelklehr commented on GitHub (Aug 2, 2021):
Hey @AbraamNader!
I'm sorry for your troubles.
I cannot replicate this with Edge 93.0.957.0 on Linux. Please try again and report back :)
@f0sh commented on GitHub (Aug 15, 2021):
Hey,
I can confirm this behavior in Edge Version 92.0.902.73 (64bit) on Win10 21H1 with Floccus version 4.7.0.
After pressing the "Login with Google" Button during the initial account configuration process the whole Edge instance crashes. After restarting the browser the addon presents the debug log as follows:

@marcelklehr commented on GitHub (Aug 16, 2021):
This appears to be a bug in Edge and will likely be fixed with the release of v93

@NuraliMedeu commented on GitHub (Sep 4, 2021):
Hello! Is it possible to fix this on the user side without updating Edge or installing another browser?
@mnalis commented on GitHub (Sep 4, 2021):
@NuraliMedeu You can use other storage method than
Google drive(WebDAVorNextcloud bookmarks), I guess. It would require opening additional account on some server which offers those services, though.@NuraliMedeu commented on GitHub (Sep 5, 2021):
Thanks, @mnalis! I am currently trying to sync my bookmarks through Yandex Disk WebDAV.
Edit September 10, 2021: It works for me, but using a WebDAV service might be inconvenient for those who want to primarily use Google Drive.
@marcelklehr commented on GitHub (Sep 10, 2021):
Still working for me with Edge 95.0.1000.0
@marcelklehr commented on GitHub (Sep 10, 2021):
@kiwibrowser Do you maybe have a hint on what's going on here, as the same was/is happening on kiwi?

@TimKKLYT commented on GitHub (Sep 26, 2021):
I met same issue on Microsoft Edge.
OS: [Win10 Pro, 21H1, x64]
Browser [Microsoft Edge]
Browser Version [94.0.992.31, x64]
Floccus version: [4.7.0. Direct installed from MicrosoftEdge store.]
Floccus sync method: [Googld Drive]
Situation:
Creat a new account. Choosed Google Drive for sync method.
Click on "Floccus icon"
Click on "Options"
Click on "Login with Google"
Screen freezed and then crashed.
I have another computer (also Win10 Pro, 21H1, x64), and Floccus works well on Edge and Chrome. Floccus still works well on that computer.
This is a new computer and just had clean installation. Floccus works well on Chrome but crash on Edge.
Seems it lost something on the new computer?
@f0sh commented on GitHub (Oct 9, 2021):
In the meantime I am already updated on Edge Version v94 and Floccus v4.8.2. The issue still persists. Any hope that this error will be fixed soon?
Please let me know, if you need more information.
@mnalis commented on GitHub (Oct 9, 2021):
I'm not an Microsoft windows user, but I seem to recall that there was (at least once upon a time) a thing called
Event Viewerinside MS-Windows, which often did contain at least some information about application and services crashes.I'm not sure content of those logs would help anybody but Microsoft engineer with access to Edge source code; but they might contain some hint. So, could someone who has this problem share what is written in that logs when Edge crashes?
Maybe there might be a difference in security policies or something, as it seems Edge with Google does work for some people.
@marcelklehr commented on GitHub (Oct 10, 2021):
The thing is that this is most likely a bug in Edge, but I've struggled to find the appropriate place to report bugs to their team. I just sent them a message to their Extension support now in the hopes they will forward to the right place. 🤞
@mnalis commented on GitHub (Oct 10, 2021):
Perhaps it might it be useful if someone has access both to Edge instance that crashes, and to Edge instance that does not crash, and can see what are differences between them (version, settings, etc).
@marcelklehr commented on GitHub (Oct 11, 2021):
Microsoft support says:
So, if you happen to be affected by this bug, please record the steps above and upload the resulting file over here, so I can relay it to Microsoft.
Update: Note that I cannot do this myself, because I cannot reproduce this and am not on Windows.
@Cyberavater commented on GitHub (Oct 14, 2021):
I've just tested with Edge dev on windows it's fixed there (It doesn't work in the stable version).
@marcelklehr commented on GitHub (Oct 14, 2021):
Great! Which version is that?
@Cyberavater commented on GitHub (Oct 14, 2021):
Microsoft Edge
Version 96.0.1032.0 (Official build) dev (64-bit)
@ghost commented on GitHub (Oct 22, 2021):
I'm also experiencing this issue running Windows 10, Microsoft Edge (95.0.1020.30 Official build), and Floccus 4.8.2.
I'll keep an eye on Edge v96 to hit the stable builds and report back confirming if the issue is resolved or not.
@f0sh commented on GitHub (Oct 27, 2021):
I was preparing the requested file with the step recorder. However the link returns a 404. Any other way to forward it to you instead of publicly uploading it here? 😇Uploaded! The link was broken though.
I can confirm that.
