Original GitHub issue: https://github.com/floccusaddon/floccus/issues/570

Floccus has been working fine in Firefox up until a couple of days ago. I am using the webdav option syncing with an OwnCloud instance. When adding an account the content of the field 'Bookmarks file path' is no longer being saved. I also use Floccus on Edge and it is not experiencing the same issue and is on V4.2.1

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
On first install

  1. Click Floccus icon in the add-on's section of the Firefox toolbar
  2. Choose XBEL file in WebDAV share
  3. Enter values for WebDAV URL, Username, Password and Bookmarks file path. Select location in Folder Mapping
  4. Click save (green tick is shown)
  5. Click floccus icon in the add-on's section of the toolbar again
  6. Bookmarks file path field is empty. All other fields are as captured initially

Expected behavior
In step 6 when opening the Floccus settings again, I expect the Bookmarks file path to contain the value initially captured. In previous versions this value was persisted.

This happens with both a single 'account' or multiple 'accounts'. Due to different bookmark structures between Edge and Firefox (that is why I use Floccus as it can keep the two in sync) I usually use 2 accounts. Both accounts are exhibiting the same behaviour i.e. not showing the Bookmark file path. The only difference between the two is the Sync folder location and the name of the xbel file in OwnCloud.

I can run sync, although am not confident it is doing it with the right .xbel file on OwnCloud. The debug logs suggest that the sync is completing okay (and the UI panel says 'All good'). Both 'accounts' I have setup show the same behaviour (i.e. 'All good').

Update
I noticed after submitting the issue that Floccus is creating a new bookmarks folder called Floccus (<my_username_on_owncloud>). It was called Main Bookmarks before. This seems to contain the contents of my original Main Bookmarks folder but incorrectly named.

Screenshots
If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: OSX Catalina
  • Browser : Firefox
  • Browser Version : 77.0.1 (64 bit)
  • Floccus version: 4.2.4
  • Floccus sync method: webdav

Server (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Ubuntu 18.04
  • Owncloud version: 10.4.1.3
  • Bookmarks app version: ?

Note: Please write down the actual version numbers instead of writing 'latest'.

Debug log
The debug logs suggest the sync is performing correctly although I cannot confirm which debug log is against which account (i.e. I cannot see if it is using the correct xbel file). Nothing else in the debug log looks 'weird', happy to provide if there is something in there that would be useful but I suspect they are not relevant to this issue.

  • Debug log provided -No

Additional context
I noticed my Edge version has not updated to 4.2.1 and it is working correctly. The Firefox version self updated to 4.2.4 and is behaving in the way I think is incorrect
