I don't know this is a valid suggestion because I'm not related to the region, but it looks the background color of the waves of the flags of "British Indian Ocean Territory (
io)" and its alias "Diego Garcia (dg)" are transparent.This screenshot is your website that background is changed to green (

body{background:#0f0}) to know the white area of the flags is white or transparent. (env: Chrome 105/Windows)It seems to me that white should be explicitly specified for the background of the waves.
(If there is a flag that designates transparent, it would be Nepal 😁)
