@NotTsunami commented on GitHub (Dec 22, 2022):
I pinned this issue because people continuously ask for the flag despite it no longer being part of the ISO standard anymore. The primary function of this library is to represent flags of countries corresponding to current ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country codes. Additional flags for anything outside of the standard are added only as needed to keep the library size small, as this is intended to be used for web applications. Anything under the transitionally reserved section of the standard will not be added as they no longer in use, typically due to the renaming of a country, the resolution of the country, etc.
Specifically in the case of Netherlands Antilles, if you are using this library and prepending/appending the flag icons to a selection menu, the solution should be to remove Netherlands Antilles as an option - it does not exist anymore (as the Netherlands Antilles), it was divided into BQ (Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba), CW (Curaçao) and SX (Dutch part of Sint Maarten), which all have flags.
