To ensure privacy and document security a random document ID (using a hash?) rather then incremental ID's would be important.

Additionally non-reusable links should be implemented. Think: you already used this document link; please confirm your Identity by signing in (for trusted signers with accounts) or using the new link in the email.

Yep we have a planned migration to something like shortId's or cuid's in the future since autoinc's are not ideal 😄
