I spent the better part of a couple hours trying to figure out why it was taking an 20-30 minutes for my recordings to upload on my self-hosted instance (if they showed up at all), and I've been able to narrow the "issue" (which very well could be simple ignorance) to my server being proxied by Cloudflare DNS.

Does anyone know what causes this? Half of the the recordings I uploaded didn't show up at all. The rest took, in some cases, over an hour and always 20 minutes or more to become available for viewing. Oddly, I couldn't find anything in either the Asciinema logs or my Caddy logs that would suggest where this bottle neck is. The weird delay had me thinking it's possible an issue with Cloudflare's cache system, but I didn't have any luck there, either.

I don't mind sidestepping Cloudflare's proxy, but I really do want to learn why this is happening. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

This sounds like something which is better handled in the forums – https://discourse.asciinema.org/

I haven't seen this problem before, and I suspect it is indeed something something Cloudflare. Feel free to post on the forums, maybe someone saw this before and can help you.
