When using asciinema, one of my two screens freezes.
I'm not 100% sure if asciinema should even touch on components that could cause this but as the issue started when I started using asciinema and at least once was resolved the same instance I stopped asciinema, I thought I might report it here.
Over the past weeks I recorded about 20 sessions and ran into a situation where one of my two screens would stop updating pixels. The task switcher and the top-right menu where I could close my system user session also stopped working.
Twice I ended up resetting the PC as killing all but the terminal sessions didn't resolve the issue. Just now I stopped terminal tabs using CTRL-D one by one when I noticed that one tab did not close but it closed an asciinema recording. In the same second the "broken" screen refreshed and I had recovered my system.
Versions:
Linux debian 6.1.0-13-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.55-1 (2023-09-29) x86_64 GNU/LinuxAdditional context
I might have resized the terminal moving it from a full screen portrait mode monitor to a full screen landscape monitor during the recording. Doing so does not trigger the issue now.
@Giszmo commented on GitHub (Feb 1, 2024):
I think I had it happen without asciinema running. Sorry for noise ...
