Original GitHub issue: https://github.com/nektos/act/issues/1431
Multiple developers using Docker Desktop have reached out to Docker and requested that there should be an extension for testing GitHub actions locally using act. I have opened this issue to let those contributing to act know that some of the community is requesting this functionality so it can be considered.
Typically, most Docker extensions are written by the community or partners of Docker. If anyone in this community is interested in creating an extension, the SDK can be found here: https://github.com/docker/extensions-sdk and supporting docs are here: https://docs.docker.com/desktop/extensions-sdk/
For transparency, I am the product manager at Docker for extensions. I'm also happy to help if anyone chooses to pursue this!
