Problem
In Firefox on Windows 10 I had the problem, that youtube translated the subtitles automatically; this was not so helpful because I also use the addon "Dual Subtitles" from "Dublicator"; this addon then shows two subtitles, but the same language in this case... I tried it with no activated addons (starting Firefox while holding Shift-key) and it changed nothing. But then I deleted the Youtube Cookies and this solved the problem (because it also didn't show the auto-translated subtitles in a private window/incognito mode), also no addons activated - and not using a logged in Google account the whole time. It must be some Youtube setting in the hompage I really couln't find. So if you activate the subtitles in the middle of a video, this would be a nice extra setting.
Proposed Solution
Additional Context (Optionnal)
@spidy2356 commented on GitHub (Dec 28, 2025):
The "subtitles always disabled" option is not working for video previews in the feed.

Good point. And on my side I wanted to mention that my above described problem persists, even when "I deleted the Youtube Cookies" shortly after. It is really strange because if I watch an english video it translates to German and if it is a german video it translates to English!
