The addon seems to have stopped working on certain circumstances.

On the home page, videos with automatic dubbing active have now their titles "translated", although if you click the video itself all seems to be working as desired, i.e., no translations in either the titles or the videos themselves.

This also happens in the side pannel of recomended videos in any video's page.

And it also happens (and this has been happening ever since I installed the addon, so it's not a new behaviour) when you scroll down past the initial set of videos, both in the home page and in the subscriptions page, although the failure to stop translations here seems to be quite erratic, i.e., it doesn't happen always. It seems that, at least sometimes, when youtube fetches a new set of videos to add to your list it bypasses the addon.

Here's a screenshot of the side panel thing (the video it's failing in is General Knowledge's - it's originally in English):

Here's the same video showing the issue in the home page:

Here's a screenshot of the erratic behaviour after scrolling down for a while. Letterman's video title is "translated", those of the other videos around it aren't:

And here are the settings I'm running:

(commented, then immediately found what I was looking for, then deleted the comment and went testing)

Tested.

Not very thoroughly, but so far all those issues seem to have indeed been solved.

Thanks.
About your other issue (new videos sometimes still translated when scrolling), I'll have a look.

I've also checked that, and it didn't show up.

The check wasn't thorough, but It seems to have fixed itself somehow. Will let you know if it pops up again.

Hi.

The thing about translations popping up randomly once you pull the list of videos down for a while happened again. Here's an example:

Image

This came up after some 10 page-downs, or something like that. Don't know if that's a factor. But today I'm getting a lot of those. I just reloaded the page (the start page) and 3 or 4 such instances popped up. I can't be sure what prompts it, but I have a feeling "vigorous" down-scrolling may be a factor, as I don't seem to get those as much if I pause after each new set of videos comes in.

Maybe.

Sorry for late response.

Does it still happens often or was it a one time?

Hi. No worries.

It happens from time to time. It never was all that frequent.

It seems to me it's some sort of latency issue: the page being displayed witout giving the addon time to kick in. I've even come across one or two instances of the video titles being displayed in their translated versions and then, very quickly, getting rewritten on the fly back to the original. This issue kinda looks like it's that but without the rewriting.

This also started happening to me since last week, and after reading this thread, I've realised that if I switch to another tab, and come back to youtube, the titles also return to it's original, and it is only occouring with videos that have auto dubbing.
But after a few lines down, the new titles are translated.

Youtube decided to innovate and that created problems with the plugin.

They now include a section where the plugin doesn't work: "explore more topics". Most of the stuff in it is subject to their lame AI "translations", as seen here:

Image

(Edit: wait. These are all in the original language. Huh?! What I did was: I checked a set of videos on that section -- they were all "translated" --, decided to write this comment, wrote the first part of it, went back to the youtube tab to do a screen grab, did that -- without checking, clearly -- and pasted the image here, concluding the comment afterwards. So it seems this got updated while I was writing the beginning of this comment, i.e., it's not that the plugin doesn't work, but another latency thing.)

Clicking on the topics themselves also show "translated" titles.
