I've had a few of these go through a power failure and they never come back online. They immediately pop the portal, which makes me think that the SSID and any other settings are getting erased somehow. How do I verify this, and, better yet prevent or work around it?

Can I store credentials in some other location (spiffs/eeprom) then try to test them in the event that it has lost the normal set?

It appears that there is already an issue open for this problem. https://github.com/tzapu/WiFiManager/issues/247
