Just run the script again and it will edit the 2 files that the DSM update replaced and Video Station will be working again.

It works for me by re-run the installation script. The video station is back.

Thank you for this - verified that re-running the latest script works on DSM 7.2.2-72806 Update 2. (This is after both Video Station and Advanced Media Extensions were showing as "incompatible").

Thank you! You saved my day... i updated this morning!
I think to get permanently safe, synology should make VideoStation Opensource

Hi 007Revad, greetings from New Zealand. I recently used your script to add Video Station to my DS218 and it worked like a charm, thanks so much. I am a bit of a scripting newbie but your solution along with the YT done by Robbie@NasCompare enabled me to get this done, much appreciated 😊.
I have a couple of questions that you may be able to help me with when you have the time and apologies in advance if this info was included somewhere in your or the NasCompare posts.
I have a library of old Video8 tapes that I have transferred to my main PC, these are either AVI or MP2 formats. I appreciate the DS218 positioning in the Synology hierarchy and understand the limitations of Transcoding that it may have but I converted a couple of the MP2s to MP4 which demonstrated that the app is working correctly – on my Windows PCs. Do you have any suggestions re an alternative to converting the MP2s, perhaps I am missing a Codec or is this just a fact of life with the DS218.
I have also been able to play the converted MP4 videos on my wife’s Ipad however it was a bit of a process that she will never be able to do on her own. I installed the IOS DS Video app on her Ipad however this fails with the error “Video Station is not installed or enabled on your Synology NAS” after a successful log in. I suspect this is due to my NAS being at DSM 7.2, I have demonstrated that Video Station is actually installed and working despite that error. Do you have any suggestions that might help us get an easier way to access the videos from her Ipad.
Thanks very much for your work !!!!!
Cheers
Mike
