This does not cause a networking overheat that I'm aware of? However-

DS1520+
The dual Synology-brand 800G M.2 NVMe drives hit 80C if under full stress testing load, and then DSM 7 immediately does a graceful shutdown without notice (no data loss per se, but if running VM's to a server then that's very bad when they disappear while running).

I think this is because there are only tiny little air vent slots on the bottom of this DS1520+ arrays design. So, I moved the array on top of a wire rack, so it is no longer sitting on a flat surface. This is because there are no fans to cool these cache modules in this model, ventilation is critical... Now, the NVMe's still get hot but not too hot; so now it is working fine..

DS3617xs
The qty4 of SATA Intel SSD's I'm using for cache have zero issues under full load, these are cooled by fans (in same slots as regularly cooled HDD's), so no issue whatsoever, and now it's back to screaming fast!!

So, overall - I agree with the warning on the main page: It will depend on your specific model's cooling capability with what happens so I suggest testing your particular model carefully.
