I know you're busy with all your projects. But maybe you have some spare time to check whether it's worth to work on my requirement :-)

Would be great if it's possible to define thresholds for any SMART values. Let's say I want to get notified if the power on hours exceeds a given threshold and I want to get notified it's time to order a new disk.

I've spent the last 2 days going back and forth with ChatGPT and Claude trying to update my DownloadStation Chrome extension to Manifest v3 😟

Someone asked for this for SSD percentage used or TB written. But DSM can email if those get to a dangerous threshold (but I don't think you can set the threshold).

I have WD Red with more than 50k power on online hours and Synology doesn't warn me :-( I want to define the thresholds and don't trust any undocumented thresholds used by Synology.

If you add this feature in your spare time you also use default thresholds. I know, they depend on the disk type, but some common sense thresholds can be used as a default.

I'd use common thresholds in a config file that users can edit if they want different thresholds.

You might might want to remind of this in a week or two or three, so I don't forget about it..

👍

Do you want me to setup an automated reminder task 😆 I don't think so. It's not a requirement - it's just a proposal.
