Hello,
Im struggling. Breakdown:
Got my ds923+ over a year ago. My reasoning was to use the WD nvme for containers and vms etc (vol2) for speed, keeping data in my 2-HDD shr vol1. I learned about the compatibility issue and found your fix. (Note: I also have a ssd vol 3 and nvme vol 1 cache in m.2 slot 2)
Initially I had a problem with restarting and the WD would be missing sometimes. This seemed to be config issue with the compatibility startup task I made, and haven't had a problem since correcting it.
Recently I've wanted to add a 3rd HDD to vol 1, so today I deleted vol 3 and removed the sdd to free up a bay. Didnt touch vol1 or vol2. I inserted the new HDD and on startup the WD nvme is missing. I tried to reapply your fix, update it and reapply. Different things, and its not working. I tried reseating, testing in slot 2. I cant tell that its being detected by the nas at all. Fearing the drive my have died I connected it in an old laptop, and it is detected in the bios.
I could really use some help. AI assistance has been bleak. Very much appreciated.
@BobbyPancakes commented on GitHub (May 8, 2025):
Drive is detectable and accessible on other devices just not in the synology nas (in either m.2 slot).
I gave up and rebuilt everything to the HDD volume.
