When the FancyZones module of PowerToys is active and I move the recording window to another monitor, ScreenToGif background gets black and ScreenToGif is unresponsible:

Looks like an issue with how the FancyZones works.

The recorder window allows transparency. If that's disabled, the cut-out part will be rendered as black.

Yeah. Nevertheless, I should be able to access the window after I stopped moving it?

It depends on what's being changed in the window settings.
The transparency is being disabled, what else?

Anyway, I recommend opening an issue ticket with PowerToys.

Let's see what they say that ScreenToGif crashes when using their tool. (Crash in the sense of hanging).

Just for my reference: ScreenToGif looks as follows: I cannot resize the it, buttons are not responsive. When starting the second time, I cannot start a recording at a second instance
