First of all I want to say that ScreenToGif is an amazing and really useful lignt-weight recording app, I just love it! That being said, I found a little inconvenience. When I search for ScreenToGif in the Start menu, it has a tiny little cutie icon with a smiling screen. But when I pin the app to Start, an ugly icon with
S>Gin a weird font, different background color and almost no padding appears. I mean I want to have ScreenToGif pinned to my Start, but this really breaks all the work I've put into making my Start a nice place.Would it be possible to change this icon to the cute one and add some padding so that it would look consistent with the rest of Windows UI? Thanks! 🙂
@hrxn commented on GitHub (Apr 18, 2018):
Well, I don't think that this is ugly. But to each their own..
Edit:
Except maybe for the font in use in "S>G".. 😄
@IgnusG commented on GitHub (Mar 2, 2020):
The font selection could be I think objectively better. After all the curvy letters don't fit the whole "edgy"/"boxy" feel of the rest of the application 🙂
@NickeManarin commented on GitHub (Mar 2, 2020):
I would need help to design a new icon. I'm thinking of getting a new one.
@cshaa commented on GitHub (Mar 2, 2020):
Did you consider using the application's default icon, just giving it transparent background and bigger padding? I don't find anything bad about it.
@NickeManarin commented on GitHub (Mar 2, 2020):
I'm considering keeping the same base idea (a screen), but using fluent design concepts (shadow, depth).
