How about using native Windows 10 notifications for saving progress bar (and more generally any status that appears on the bottom left of the screen)?

This is what happens now:

This is what it could look like:

Not that it's not shown here but notifications can have action buttons as well, so we could imagine a "open directory" or "view file" to match current functionnalities.

This can be an improvement for some people, but I disabled these notifications and the charm panel on my computer. If you plan on implemeting this, make sure to check if the user has the notification panel enabled.

Some people I know (myself included) prefer not to have the native notifications. If you end up implementing this, please allow for an option to disable it.
