Description

I am using Cisco AnyConnect VPN and connecting to a url that I have added to the Bypass List for External Proxies. I have noticed that those same bypass list URLs are not copied over to my mac's network settings when going to:
System Settings > Network > "My Wifi" --> Details > Proxies > Bypass proxy settings for these hosts & domains.

If i manually add the url there, anyconnect works properly. but isn't the point of the Bypass List for External Proxies in Proxyman supposed to do this for you? (see screenshot below)

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Add VPN url to Bypass List for External Proxies in Proxyman
  2. Try to connect to VPN

Current Behavior

  • VPN will not connect
  • Mac network settings do not reflect the bypass list

Expected Behavior

  • VPN connects
  • Mac network settings reflect bypass list(?)

Environment

  • M1 Macbook Pro
  • Ventura 13.3.1
  • Proxyman 4.7.0
  • Cisco AnyConnect 4.10.03104

Actually, it's the Bypass Proxy List for the External Proxy. External Proxy helps you to pass the traffic to your external Proxy again.

For example:
Your MacBook -> Proxyman ---(external Proxy, with the bypass list)---> Your Company Proxy Server -> The Internet.

The bypass list in the Wifi is not supported in the latest version of Proxyman. I guess I should support it 👍

@NghiaTranUIT that would be great to support it. Honestly it was working fine in my old intel 16" MacBook Pro. So I'm not sure what changed and I was brainstorming a hypothesis as to why.

I suppose if you supported that it wouldn't matter as it would indeed work.

@schmett29 you can try this Beta build: https://download.proxyman.io/beta/Proxyman_4.7.1_Support_Bypass_Proxy_List.dmg

  • Proxyman now supports the built-in Bypass Proxy List 👍
  • Access from Tools menu -> Proxy Setting -> Bypass Proxy Setting
  • It will override the system bypass proxy setting with the Proxyman setting, and revert back when the app is closed.
