Describe the bug
When attempting to drag an IPA into the PlayCover app icon, it completely crashes the app. Afterwards, the app refuses to open and re-installing the app does not do anything (so I assume it has something to do with the caches). Despite that, the app is still installed in PlayCover.
Steps to reproduce
Drag any IPA into the PlayCover app icon in the dock (Note that I have only tested this with the Discord IPA but I assume it would happen to other IPAS)
Expected behaviour
Decrypts the IPA and continues as normal
Crash log
What version of PlayCover are you using?
Nightly/beta
What version of macOS are you using?
Monterey (macOS 12)
Issue Language
@ZhichGaming commented on GitHub (Sep 8, 2022):
Cannot reproduce the issue with a different IPA than discord and I do not have the discord IPA.
@TheMoonThatRises commented on GitHub (Sep 8, 2022):
Also when I delete the Discord app from ~/Library/Containers/PlayCover/ the PlayCover can open again
@TheMoonThatRises commented on GitHub (Sep 8, 2022):
I think this only happens with Discord and regardless of installation method, though I've only tested a few apps
@ZhichGaming commented on GitHub (Sep 8, 2022):
Where did the IPA come from?
@TheMoonThatRises commented on GitHub (Sep 8, 2022):
From the PlayCover IPA Website. Also with more testing it seems to only happen when it is the only app installed
@ZhichGaming commented on GitHub (Sep 8, 2022):
Does this happen in other versions?
@TheMoonThatRises commented on GitHub (Sep 8, 2022):
This does not happen with v1.1.1. And as a side note: In the nightly/beta, I am unable to open the app while with v1.1.1 it can be opened.
@zanderp25 commented on GitHub (Sep 12, 2022):
This does not seem to be an issue with the latest nightly.
@ZhichGaming commented on GitHub (Sep 17, 2022):
I will be closing this since we cannot reproduce the issue. Use the Mac discord application instead.
@ZhichGaming commented on GitHub (Sep 17, 2022):
I have just been informed that one of our developers have managed to reproduce this, and something about the IPA size could prompt PlayCover to crash. My apologies.
@IsaacMarovitz commented on GitHub (Sep 27, 2022):
@TheMoonThatRises Please try again in the latest nightly. If the issue was due to ipa size there are several changes that may have fixed it this.
@TheMoonThatRises commented on GitHub (Sep 27, 2022):
This issue seems to have been fixed; it no longer crashes. But I have also upgraded to MacOS Ventura Beta and I'm not sure how that would affect it.
