Describe the bug

I know a thread about my issue was posted under “Game Support” many years ago, and that it was basically closed. However, the solution doesn’t seem to work anymore, and it’s the only one that shows up when you try to Google a fix.

You might also be wondering why I’m trying to sideload the game instead of running the native app. There are three big reasons: storage space, battery life, and performance.

So,

The bug: When I try to go talk in Wuthering Waves’ co-op chat or attempt to type anything in any in-game textbox like the Signature, or the player search... I cannot type any text because of keybinds thinking I’m trying to move or press a button. That makes playing the game infinitely worse.

Steps to reproduce

  • Download WuWa IPA
  • Download WuWa keybinds
  • Launch the app with Play Cover, enabling or disabling smart keymapping (it doesn’t matter)
  • Try to talk to a friend in wuwa’s internal chat
  • You can’t send a single coherent message because playcover thinks your keypresses are attempts to press a button/trigger

Expected behaviour

  • I was expecting to be able to type in wuwa the same way I can type in Genshin. This issue does not occur in Genshin.
  • When I type in a wuwa textbox, I want to be able to type all letters and numbers and ignore keybinds.

Crash log

nothing that crashes.

What version of PlayCover are you using?

3.1.0

What version of macOS are you using?

Sonoma (macOS 14)

Issue Language

  • Yes my issue is written in English
