Describe the bug
Main issue:
When i try to open Honkai Star Rail it immediately crashes and i get a crash report
My attempts at fixing it:
I tried deleting honkai star rail clean and reinstalling it, i've tried enabling jailbreak bypass, disabling jailbreak bypass, turning off SIP and trying again, lowering resolution, increasing resolution, setting category to .game, Trying playcover nightly, repeating all the above mentioned steps in playcover nightly.
More detailed information on the matter:
attached below are my device specifications, the version of playcover used, the version of playcover nightly i tried, and my playcover settings for honkai star rail alongside a screenshot of the error report i get:

The crash report is very long, i could not fit it into the crash report box, i am sorry i don't know how to only write the relevant parts of the crash report as i am not knowledgeable enough on this subject, this is my first time using github. sorry for the inconvenience, i hope someone can help me fix this
Steps to reproduce
Open Honkai Star rail, right click on the icon on the dock and click quit when you see the login screen.
Expected behaviour
I was expecting it to quit like any other program would, considering how i opened Honkai Star rail by accident and this has happened before but it never stopped me from opening it again, now when i try to open it, i get a pop up saying "the last time you opened Honkai star rail it was forced to quit, would you like to reopen windows or quit" and it vanishes before i have any time to click on anything and that's how i get this crash report.

After some trial and error i found out that updating brew and making sure rosetta before reinstalling the game clean helps. This error happens when you are using an old version of brew. If the game still doesn't open, try changing the app category to .entertainment

Hello, I have encountered the same problem as you. Can you be more specific
My homebrew is already the latest, and I have tried the entertainment app category, but still cannot open it.
"the last time you opened XXX it was forced to quit, would you like to reopen windows or quit" and it vanishes before i have any time to click
@stefanos-git commented on GitHub (Apr 3, 2025):
i tried every solution under the sun and nothing seemed to work, when i checked for brew updates my terminal said i have an update available, after installing this update, i deleted honkai star rail clean off my computer, to do this, right click on honkai star rail in the playcover app, click uninstall, now you'll get a popup of the checklist of things you wanna keep or get rid of, check all the boxes, hit uninstall. download a fresh new ipa file, i used decrypt.day for this, and open it using playcover, after i did this, the game went to the downloading resources screen and after downloading resources it ran just fine.
if ur brew is already in the latest version, check if you have rosetta installed, i know it has nothing to do with sideloading IOS application and is for running intel based apps on the m1 chip, but i troubleshooted this issue with the help of chatgpt, and it asked me to do exactly this: update rosetta, update brew, wipe the game clean off ur device and reinstall- and it worked.
@ruokid commented on GitHub (Apr 3, 2025):
I started the game just a minute ago and this is the solution I have found
on playcover:
right click (your game) -> show in finder
open it with shift+double click

@stefanos-git commented on GitHub (Apr 5, 2025):
I remember seeing this thread earlier, i tried it and for some reason it did not work on my computer, must be some issue with my computer and not an inherent issue with playcover or hsr
