Describe the bug

If you update your nightly LiveContainer to the latest beta and attempt to install an app from a sources, nothing happens. It appears to be fixed upon a clean install.

Instructions to reproduce

  1. Use a nightly build like this
  2. Update it to the latest nightly from time of writing here
  3. Attempt to install an app from a source. (You get moved to the Apps screen, but nothing happens/installed)

What version of LiveContainer and iOS are you using?

iOS 26.0.1, LiveContainer 3.6.55-Release (main/2b020ad)

Other info

If you delete and reinstall LiveContainer, then source functionality works as intended, but people will start flooding the GitHub issues if it doesn't work out of the box before the stable update.

(Unrelated issue, the default Flyinghead source is no more but is visible in the app)

@StephenDev0 please take a look.

I think we might remove recommended sources.

That’s fine. I wasn’t sure what to put there anyway.

Hmm, It occurred on and required a clean install on both my ipad and iphone (updated from the second-latest nightly to the latest).

It works fine for me, however I did uninstall the stable version first and then installed the nightly version; I didn't want to think about any potential incompatibility issues between stable and nightly versions.

Without any other reports I think it should be fine to release it, as I'd expect more than one person to complain about this issue if they encounter it.

I’ll close it for now, reopen if I hear other reports like mine or if it keeps happening.

That’s not how we intend it to. To someone having like hundred of apps in private, it would not be applicable since they will have to reinstall all of them together. We put data migration code inside whenever we introduce an internal breaking change.

Discovered the issue: phenomena only appears when LC is hidden, occurs because apps are installed from sources via URL scheme.
