Describe the issue
Live Container can be installed on AltStore. However, after installation and installing apps within Live Container, none of the apps open by tabbing 'run' (nothing happens). Re-installing of Live Container did not fix it.
Instructions to reproduce
What version of LiveContainer are you using?
Version 3.0.0-release (main/e5cf20b)

@ghost commented on GitHub (Oct 8, 2024):
I think you have to patch altstore first in the settings
@hugeBlack commented on GitHub (Oct 8, 2024):
I think you missed the setting up JITless mode procedure. Please patch AltStore, set up JITless mode and try again.
@Okabeh commented on GitHub (Oct 8, 2024):
So when I patch AltStore and setup the JITless mode, I get an error within Live Container: "Failed to find certificate data. Refresh app in SideStore/ AltStore and try again".
After refreshing, same error occurs. Deleting and reinstalling AltStore makes the Live Container available again but the same issue stays.
@hugeBlack commented on GitHub (Oct 8, 2024):
Did you opened Altstore once after it is patched?
@Okabeh commented on GitHub (Oct 8, 2024):
Yeah, I did. I quickly made a video of what, I did and what happens: https://streamable.com/bd5jr4?t=0&src=player-page-share
@hugeBlack commented on GitHub (Oct 8, 2024):
Everything seemed weird in your video, what version of AltStore did you use? Did you use the paid version or version 2.0 or something else? Normally, AltStore should crash once after the patch is applied and LiveContainer should show the setup JITless screen after AltStore installing it.
@Okabeh commented on GitHub (Oct 8, 2024):
I'm using AltStore 2.0 (non-paid) & AltServer 1.7.2.0 (both up to date). So, yeah. I'm uncertain what this causes. I could try reinstalling AltStore but, I assume, I do lose the apps within it?
EDIT: I tried to re-install 2.1.2 version and then tried to enable JIT. It first told me that the way through Live Container is unsupported, so I tried to enable JIT through both AltStore and PC. With both, I got this message: ''The URL to download the Developer Disk image could not be determined''.
Tried to google the problem through Reddit and found one thread with the same issue (no solution though): Reddit thread about JIT issue on IOS 18
@player301 commented on GitHub (Oct 9, 2024):
you have to restart LC after the initial JIT-less setup
@Okabeh commented on GitHub (Oct 9, 2024):
Restart as in entirely stop Live Container and re-open it? When I do that, the same message will appear that comes at the end of the video; "failed to find certificate data, refresh app in AltStore".
Refreshing doesn't help either unfortunately.
@MicrosoftPro12 commented on GitHub (Oct 21, 2024):
I'm having this issue too, setting every apps to open with JIT does work but it's quite inconvenient. (Using SideJITServer and AltStore)
@MicrosoftPro12 commented on GitHub (Oct 21, 2024):
AltStore does crash on my device (after the patch is applied), but I'm getting the same error (Failed to find certificate data) after I setup the JITless mode.
Using AltStore 2.0 (Non-paid) with AltServer 1.7.2 (90), iOS 18.0.
@hugeBlack commented on GitHub (Oct 22, 2024):
I tried with fresh AltStore 2.0 and latest LiveContainer today and both the patch and the JITLess mode setup worked perfectly, so I think there is something wrong with altstore. Can you try removing both altstore and LiveContainer and try again?
@hugeBlack commented on GitHub (Oct 22, 2024):
@MicrosoftPro12 能看一下你的AltStore里面的Appid吗,groupid可以打码
@MicrosoftPro12 commented on GitHub (Oct 22, 2024):
@hugeBlack emmmmm...GroupID是...?
@Okabeh commented on GitHub (Oct 23, 2024):
Wanted to do this but will have to wait a week, unfortunately. Cannot re-install AltStore because ''all 10 App IDs already in use''. Got to let all the App IDs expire and then re-install AltStore. I will let you know in a week, apologies.
The message, I get after trying to re-install AltStore:
@Okabeh commented on GitHub (Oct 30, 2024):
So I reinstalled AltStore (2.0), installed LiveContainer and the error still occurs (Apologies for the image being so large. Uploaded it through the phone);

@yari-dog commented on GitHub (Nov 9, 2024):
I'm currently experiencing the same issue in the above comment, uninstalling & reinstalling brought it back to being able to open livecontainer. when i try and do the "setup jitless certificate" the app closes and on reopening sometimes shows "unable to enable JIT" or something along those lines. using altlinux and altstore 2.0
@Nessunissimo commented on GitHub (Nov 12, 2024):
What does patch mean?
@hugeBlack commented on GitHub (Nov 13, 2024):
Install the latest build from Actions tab and you will see the patch option in settings if you install LiveContainer with AltStore.
@Okabeh commented on GitHub (Nov 13, 2024):
Wanted to let you know, I switched to SideStore and now Live Container works.
@hugeBlack commented on GitHub (Nov 17, 2024):
Guys if you are still having issue enabling JIT-Less mode, could you please try the latest build that comes with a new way of enabling JITLess mode for both SideStore and AltStore and can hopefully eliminate all issues with JIT-Less setup.
@MicrosoftPro12 commented on GitHub (Nov 17, 2024):
owo! It seems fine now.
@BigCatGit commented on GitHub (Feb 7, 2025):
Can it work properly on a jailbreaked phone? I tried it, and there was no response when starting the app
