When ever I run the update to force-update command on the server it hangs on the login. I have steam guard enabled and I figure this has something to do with it. As a temp solution I just run the install command every time since that can get through the steam login for some reason.

So you're saying that "install" will log to your steam account but "update" won't ?

yup, update will just keep hanging on login into 'username' public steam account. No idea what is going on in the back but install shows the same message and just moves on

FYI for others trying to work around this, just do install every time there is an update and when it asks if the steam content was installed correctly (after update) just close the process.

Relevant? https://github.com/dgibbs64/linuxgsm/wiki/SteamCMD#steamcmd-login

Last time I had a steam guard code it worked. Are you using Steam Guard via Smartphone?

It could also be an isue with the buffer again. Make sure your up to date as well ./gamserver uf

you are correct, it seems I just need to learn to read. Unfortunate that it is not supported though.
EDIT: Using android phone code

Yup there is no way around it. I recommend using a separate login for your server if possible so your main account is protected.
