User story

As a server admin, I want LGSM to self-determine, based on the LGSM config, the best way to MONITOR the server.

Game

No response

Linux distro

Ubuntu 24.04

Command

command: monitor

Further information

I had been running a server w/o issue (CROSSPLAY enabled) up to this point. v0.221.4 of Valheim has just dropped & I did what I usually do: './*server fu'

After, I watched as everything spooled up & I was getting CROSSPLAY join codes+. I was also able to log in via the Community list, so everything seemed to be on the up-n-up

Unfort., I got complaints of bouncing (on/off-line fluctuations). The console monitor would get to the delay time-out (5-min after start-up) & start querying...& failing. Then reboot to attempt to fix. Again, nothing but the server update was done.

Can see here I get the server running, but GamePlay doesn't 'play' well with others @ the moment:

I rolled through all 5 of the 'Query Mode' options. The only one that gave me a stable run was '1' (session only). All others followed the same 'query -> fail -> reboot' cycle.

I then kicked on over to the Valheim Discord server to ask about the shenanigans. One of the devs, I believe, indicated that CROSSPLAY disables the 'networking' side of things so GAMEDIG should get dorked.

Which leads me to: It's a 'bug' (one side or the other) that didn't present until I updated (they fixed something in the code-behind??) or a 'feature request': If crossplay is enabled, LGSM should switch the query mode.
