User story

The CS:GO install command failes to fetch core_modules.sh

Game

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Linux distro

Other

Command

command: install

Further information

The core_modules.sh file download fails when running the CS:GO install command. Upon adding an echo statement to the script so I could quickly grab the urls being fetched, I found that both Github and Bitbucket are dead links.

Relevant log output

[csgoserver@fedora ~]$ ./csgoserver install
fetching GitHub core_modules.sh...ERROR
fetching Bitbucket core_modules.sh...FAIL
./csgoserver: line 129: core_exit.sh: command not found
./csgoserver: line 387: fn_fetch_config: command not found
copying _default.cfg...cp: cannot stat '/home/csgoserver/lgsm/config-default/config-lgsm/csgoserver/_default.cfg': No such file or directory
FAIL

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install the server from the website
  2. Run ./csgoserver install

@ToeiRei commented on GitHub (May 28, 2023):

I can confirm the same thing happens with arkservers as well when running the latest codebase. (read: "./arkserver ul" breaks the lgsm as well here showing the same symptoms)

Same thing happens to tf2server by executing ./tf2server start
Using Ubuntu 22.04 LTS

Might have to do with the new release. Wonder if the issue is just that the website is yet to be updated to reflect the new bash script?

edit: except the URLs seem to be versioned

If you are having issues the quickest fix is to remove linuxgsm.sh and csgoserver files as well as lgsm/functions directory and re-download. That should resolve any problems.

I have done a lot of work to try and make this update as smooth as possible however there is always a chance of some edge cases causing issues.

@emma-alexandria you may also be right there could be a caching delay on teh url as the release came out. Hopefully this cleared now

All is working fine now for me, seems like it might've been caching.
