User Story

As a [user description], I want [desired action] so that [desired outcome].

Basic info

  • Distro: CentOS 8
  • Game: appears to be any
  • Command: appears to be any
  • LinuxGSM version: [v20.1.3]

Further Information

This is an FYI as no doubt no one will even acknowledge this post
If you install (or try to) a game using CentOS 8 the dependency check/install fails. No worries just install them manually. However if you then run

servername st

you get an output like the image below. I added some code to the redhat dep function to make sure that there was nothing wrong with the server setup (the red arrow in the image).
just ignore this and if you have installed all deps or in fact the ones the server needs it runs fine.
oddly for some reason (see image) LGSM tries to install the dependants via a few debian calls rather than redhat.
I wrote some code to check what deps were installed (enough to start a game and the result was image 2, as you can see there is everything required to start is installed, but none of the other LGSM deps.
Just a heads Up
