User Story

Latest Unreal Tournament 99 Server deployment is missing the following section from the default "ut99server.ini" preventing it from sending data to the Master Servers to appear on the server list.

Basic info

  • Distro: Debian 10
  • Game: Unreal Tournament 99
  • Command: ut99server
  • LinuxGSM version: v21.2.2

Further Information

I noticed my server was not showing up on the master server list from a client. Checking the server logs, I noticed that it reported "DoUplink is not set. Not connecting to Master Server." I compared this .ini file with a working one from a 451 server deployment from LinuxGSM and noticed the "IpServer.UdpServerUplink" section was missing. I added the following to resolve:

[IpServer.UdpServerUplink]
DoUplink=True
UpdateMinutes=1

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

  1. Star a ut99server
  2. open the current log file in log/console/ut99server-console.log
  3. Scroll down to section to see the "DoUplink is not set. Not connecting to Master Server."
  4. See error

Expected behaviour

Once resolved I see the following messages appear along with my server showing up in the Master Server list:

Resolved unreal.epicgames.com (199.255.40.174)
Master Server is unreal.epicgames.com:27900
Port 7779 successfully bound.
Resolved utmaster.epicgames.com (199.255.40.174)
Master Server is utmaster.epicgames.com:27900
Port 7779 successfully bound.
Resolved master.mplayer.com (165.160.15.20)
Master Server is master.mplayer.com:27900
Port 7779 successfully bound.
Resolved master.333networks.com (84.83.176.234)
Master Server is master.333networks.com:27900
