When doing a
./csgoserver install, the install seems to hang and doesn't move past the install of the actual game.Steam download is OK
Steam install is OK
The game server files download completes successfully and a subsequent validate confirms that the download was complete.
The (
steamcmd.sh) output from./csgoserver installcomes through in rather large chunks (roughly screenfuls). Repeatedly runningdu -sk .on theserverfilesdirectory confirms that the download is continuing along normally.Example output:
All of the downloading progress messages come through in large chunks, the direct output from the script is normal.
That's it until I CTRL-C the script. I can then continue by commenting out the
fn_steamdlandfn_steaminstallcalls in thecsgoserverscript and re-running./csgoserver install. Everything after this point is OK and runs without issue.The behaviour is quite weird, and I can't say for sure that it is an issue with the script, since I think I remember seeing similar behaviour when using
steamcmd.shdirectly.I see similar behaviour when performing a
./csgoserver update, where the steam output just seems to sit there doing nothing, although stuff appears to be happening in the background.The more I think about this, the more it seems like an issue with
steamcmd.shas it has been happening since early December.@dgibbs64 commented on GitHub (Jan 6, 2015):
Yup I can confirm that this would be a SteamCMD issue. I recommend logging the issue with Valve if the issue doesnt resolve itself soon https://github.com/ValveSoftware
@dgibbs64 commented on GitHub (Jan 9, 2015):
Its worth deleting the steamcmd dir and trying again it may kick it back in to life. I am closing this issue as this is a SteamCMD issue.
@benlyall commented on GitHub (Feb 1, 2015):
Just a heads up on this... it's resolved itself. Perhaps a steamcmd update fixed things up, but I'm not sure. Either way, it's OK now with no changes to the csgoserver script, as expected.
