This may have already been asked, I see Clipy has a slightly different file structure than ClipMenu, I was wondering if it would be possible to either manually import existing ClipMenu clips.data and Snippets.xml files. either somewhere in the Preferences, or to ask the user on first run if they would like to import them?

I see that in the Snippets window there is an Import button; I was able to import snippets.xml that I had exported from ClipMenu.

Did not work for me.
Using Mojave 10.14 and did not exported in ClipMenu (Sierra 10.12), but tried the Snippets.xml from ~/Library/Application Support/ClipMenu/, "exported" by TimeMachine.

Any idea?

This issue should be marked as solved as the Export/Import snippets feature from within the apps seem to work correctly.

I think this issue should not be closed, as import seems to be faulty. Tried importing a snippet.xml from clip menu and got this as an error in the console

error 23:14:48.183145 +0200 Clipy errors encountered while discovering extensions: Error Domain=PlugInKit Code=13 "query cancelled" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=query cancelled}

This is reproducible 100% of the time.

System Details:
MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 (18G103)
Clipy Version 1.2.1

I have just moved fro Clipmenu to Clipy. As mentioned above, the exported XML file would not import into Clipy.

However, on investigation, it appears that the Clipmenu export adds a non-printable character—in my case, the 'question mark in a box'. Using find and replace (with a space) in Textedit on the Mac, fixed this and I was able to import the clips.

Load Clipmenu. Preferences>Snippet.

Then use the settings cog to Export and save.

But note my comments above if it does not load into Clipy (Edit snippets>Import)
