Description of the new feature - must be an in-depth explanation of the feature you want, reasoning why, and the added benefits for MSPs as a whole.

I'm hoping for a new Email/Exchange tool that would allow a lookup of an alias and return the relevant user/room/group with that alias attached.

We've just had an instance were an ex-staff member is returning and their alias was assigned to someone else after they left as the mailbox was deleted but they still wanted to receive the email. We had to determine where the alias was assigned so we could recreate the ex-staffer and reassign their alias.

We've also had instances were it wasn't known which shared mailbox a particular generic alias was assigned when a client wanted a new dedicated mailbox configured.

The addition of such a tool would simplify identifying the relevant mailbox/user/group which is impossible via the GUI so requires powershell or a sometimes large time investment.

PowerShell commands you would normally use to achieve above request

Get-Recipient [alias@address.com.au]
