Type
What is the problem that your feature request solves
I am considering using this software but couldn't find information about whether or not it can sync with my iPhone.
Describe the ideal specific solution you'd want, and whether it fits into any broader scope of changes
Offline access to recent articles on my iPhone
What hacks or alternative solutions have you tried to solve the problem?
How badly do you want this new feature?
@pirate commented on GitHub (Sep 19, 2019):
What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Saving the actual archive data on your phone offline, just viewing the archived articles on your phone, being able to add new links to the archive from your phone, or all three?
You cant do the actual archiving on your phone because this is a command-line program that requires wget, headless chrome, curl, etc, stuff iOS/Android don't really provide direct access to. If you just want to view an existing archive published somewhere, or add links form your phone, that's pretty easy and I can help you through that.
If you want offline access to all your articles saved using archivebox on a computer, you'll have to sync your archivebox output folder to your phone using something like Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud Drive, etc. After doing that, you can just open
index.htmlinside the folder to start browsing the saved articles on your phone offline.If that doesn't sound like it covers your needs, you can check out one of the many alternatives here:

Hmmm. I think I misunderstood what this application does. I saw it listed somewhere as a self-hosted alternative to Instapaper, but that does not seem to be the case.
@pirate commented on GitHub (Sep 19, 2019):
It sort of is in some ways, it can integrate with services like Instapaper to provide archiving functionality like Pinboard Premium/Pocket Premium, but it can also be used to replace them entirely depending on how you set it up. The most common use is importing list of links from Bookmarks / Browsing History / or a bookmarking service like Instapaper, then piping it into ArchivBox to get an offline-browsable archive. Personally I use Pocket to collect my links for ArchiveBox, but you can skip the extra step and get a Pocket/Instapaper-like experience with ArchiveBox alone by setting up a shortcut on your phone/laptop to write saved links directly to a file that ArchiveBox reads as input.

I see. Thanks.
