What is the problem that your feature request solves

I want to import a huge list of my bookmarks from instapaper. However when importing them all will be added at roughly the same date. I want to be able to maintain the chronological order of my existing bookmark catalog.

Describe the ideal specific solution you'd want, and whether it fits into any broader scope of changes

As I found out the original timestamp already is stored when importing a list of links via the Snapshot.bookmarked field. I would love to see an option (f.e. via config) to switch the first column of the bookmark list from Snapshot.added to Snapshot.bookmarked. This should also include updating the order of the bookmarks in the list to be sorted by Snapshot.bookmarked and not Snapshot.added.

What hacks or alternative solutions have you tried to solve the problem?

I am not aware of any alternative solutions.

How badly do you want this new feature?

  • It's an urgent deal-breaker, I can't live without it
  • It's important to add it in the near-mid term future
  • It would be nice to have eventually

  • I'm willing to contribute dev time / money to fix this issue
  • I like ArchiveBox so far / would recommend it to a friend
  • I've had a lot of difficulty getting ArchiveBox set up
