Hello!

Is there a timeline for when the new version will appear on PlayStore and F-Droid? Unfortunately the Github apk conflicts with Google's version and I can't update without uninstalling and therefor losing all app data.

It's rolling out on Google Play and the update should be coming to F-Droid soon. I think we cannot speed-up the process here since that's the way how F-Droid manages updates.
