Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue when connecting to a Windows 11 machine via Remote Desktop. The webcam is successfully detected and appears in Device Manager as “redirected,” indicating that the redirection itself is working. However, when attempting to use the camera within the session, it fails to start and reports that the camera is already in use.

The behavior seems to be specific to the client being used to initiate the connection. When connecting with the standard Microsoft Remote Desktop client, the camera functions normally without any issues. However, when connecting using the alternative RDP client, the camera is detected but cannot be accessed by applications.

This suggests that the device redirection is partially working, but the client may not be correctly handling the camera stream or releasing the device to the remote session. I have verified that the camera is not being used by any local applications on the host machine and that video capture redirection is enabled.

Could you please advise if there are any additional settings or compatibility considerations that may affect webcam redirection with this client? Any guidance or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

Camera: Logitech BRIO
1Remote version: latest nightly

Thank you.

I can not now provide a solution; I tested it with an HP camera and worked fine, but I don't have a Logitech camera to test with.
