This feature is IMO kinda half done.

Now, regarding your question, it doesn't seem like unnecessary.

Since App can have HOSTNAME defined per original discussion, this is a normal feature to ping it and alias its IP/name.

oh Connection Info should not be displayed when there is no HOSTNAME in the cli parameter list.

This feature is IMO kinda half done.

Moreover, hardly any users utilize this protocol, including myself. then because I don't use it, there is no idea to update to perfect it.

Its certainly power user feature and while its low prio IMO it should eventually get some love.
